Alisa Davies has recently been appointed by Decipher Group to take on the position of Health and Wellbeing Specialist at Lyttelton Port of Christchurch (LPC).
Throughout a career spanning more than 20 years, Alisa has developed highly transferrable skills working as qualified social worker in Australia and England where she specialised in family and children’s services, and mental health.
Most recently Alisa was employed as a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor for engineering company Downer. She has also worked as an Injury Prevention Consultant at the Accident Compensation Corporation and held key positions including Operations Support Manager and Airpoints Fraud Investigator throughout a five-year stint working for Air New Zealand.
As LPC’s new Health and Wellbeing Specialist, Alisa will take ownership of monitoring the health of staff and third party providers accessing the Port. She will also implement the return to work process for current staff and support the wider Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) team to execute the Port’s HSW strategy. Other key components of the role include injury management, risk analysis and health and safety leadership.
Alisa holds various qualifications and certificates, including:
· a Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety (Level 6) from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority
· Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems – Auditor Course from the University of Ballarat and Victorian Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (VIOSH) Australia
· Bachelor of Social Work, majoring in Sociology and Psychology, from the University of Tasmania
