Decipher Group was pleased to recruit Arash Rastani as the new Safety Manager of Lyttelton Port of Christchurch (LPC).
Arash is a senior health, safety, environment and training professional with more than 15 years’ experience working in international markets including the Middle East, Australia and West Africa. His specialist areas of expertise include Process Safety, occupational hygiene, learning and development, Health Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management systems, risk management, auditing and assurance, reliability and project management.
Most recently Arash was employed as the Health, Safety and Environment Manager for Centurion Transport in Western Australia. He’s also held numerous roles with leading global mining group Rio Tinto, and worked for major petroleum company Total in the Middle East.
As the Safety Manager, Arash will be responsible for the provision of health and safety at the Port, including education, training, resources and application of all procedures and systems. Key components of the role will involve risk and incident management. He will also be required to maintain relationships with LPC’s stakeholders and PCBU, as well as regulatory authorities including WorkSafe New Zealand and Maritime New Zealand.

Arash also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Beheshti University in Iran
