About the Company
Ōtākaro Limited takes a vital leadership role in the regeneration of Christchurch. Funded by the Crown, Ōtākaro is a commercially-focussed company charged with overseeing the delivery of key central city projects – both vertical and horizontal - and the divestment of specific Crown assets. As the leaders behind the development of the Convention Centre (Te Pae), Ōtākaro has identified a need for a Systems Accountant to be heavily involved in the implementation of a new system designed for the management of Te Pae’s financials. We need a talented and experienced accountant to join the team!
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Systems Accountant will be responsible for providing day-to-day management of and input into the ongoing development of Otakaro and Te Pae’s financial systems (Ungerboeck). Working closely with the Te Pae finance team, you will be the “eyes and ears” of Ōtākaro in the Convention Centre Project and will ensure that the system implementation is conducted to Ōtākaro and legislative standards.
Responsible for ensuring that the financial system is fit for purpose, you will ensure system policies, processes and procedures are reviewed, maintained and communicated to all users. Specifically, you will:
To be successful in this role, you will have an accounting degree and you may be a Chartered Accountant. You will have end-to-end ERP systems experience with hands-on capability in BI reporting tools; Crystal Reporting for example. A capable communicator with a strong client/end user focus, you will understand the importance of relationship management, internally and externally. Your high degree of initiative coupled with your self-drive will set you apart as a success in this role as will your flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to your work.
